Love Me is a series of work utilizing the figure of a doll to convey the idea of love from the view of childlike whimsy and wonder. That ability to be enamored with a beauty that's often times missed, contorted, or discounted by others.
I gravitate toward making sculptures out of materials which fight back, refusing to bend toward my will, with ease. I thrive on the physical and emotional tolls of each demanding creation and hope their conveyed meaning provides a similar dichotomy within the mind of the viewer. If idle hands were the devil's playground, mine would be his solitary confinement.
Although I consider myself a sculptor, I visit working in two dimensional formats when the art deems it necessary.
